Grilled Salmon

Hello People

Continuing with my clean eating plan and some nutritious dinner ideas and of course my obvious love for fish, had me pick up some fresh pink Salmon fillets at our weekly village market. This market is such a delight to shop in, well I am going to do a post about that soon because I am totally in love with this way of picking my groceries and the fresh produce from local farmers that one gets to buy there but that is for next time.  

This is what our dinner looks like at least 2 times a week. In order to get good amount of Omega-3 fatty acids and Proteins from our meals I love putting this simple, healthy meal together without feeling liking I am having to swim upstream. Ideally, in a week one must consume fatty fish such as this twice and at least once low-calorie high-protein fish like Cod.

Pan grilled Salmon served with steamed rice, salad and veggies cooked in coconut curry



What you need for this ( to make one portion) ?

  • 200 gms Salmon fillet with skin
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Lemon Juice
  • Grill Pan


How to make it?

Wash Salmon fillet with cold water and pat dry with kitchen towels
Brush Salmon with little olive oil
Season with Salt & Pepper on all three sides except the skin side
Slightly oil your grill pan and bring it to medium-high heat 
Place the fillet skin side down first and let it crisp up for 3 minutes
Now turn the fillet to one side for 2-3 minutes and let it get those beautiful grill marks and cook a little. Repeat this step for the other side too and then flip it top down and do the same for 3-4 minutes.
Once all the three sides are party cooked and grilled place the fillet again skin down and cover it with a lid and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.
Open the lid and check if the fish has become flaky and opaque throughout and its Done

Serving Suggestion: Drizzle some lemon juice on the fillet and serve it with steamed rice and some vegetables sauteed in tomato sauce or coconut curry sauce or just simply grille on the pan.
